What do you know about Poland? ①To many Chinese people, especially children, Chopin is synonymous (同义的) with “piano”. Chopin’s piano-playing skills are impossible to copy. He has played an important role in the world of piano. “His music is at the heart of Polish romanticism (浪漫主义), full of sadness, joy and love,” according to some of his fans.
In memory of his great talents, Polish people have built a statue(雕塑)of Chopin in Royal Baths Park in Warsaw, the country’s capital. ② It is known to many Chinese people as “Chopin Park”. But what is less known about the park is its original connection (联系) to China.
③He named the avenue(大道) linking two royal palaces “China Avenue”. He even built two Chinese-style bridges and a wooden Chinese temple along the avenue. So the connection between China and Poland started from an early age.
Now, this ancient connection has been given new life. Poland is acting as a gate to Europe as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative(一带一路). ④Thanks to this new connection, Chinese goods can reach the EU faster by train than by sea and Chinese tourists can go to Poland more easily. There are various forms of tourist attractions in Poland--- from the mountains in the south to the sandy beaches in the north. Poland's main tourist offerings include outdoor activities such as skiing, sailing, mountain hiking and climbing. ⑤
A: And of course the capital city of Poland—Warsaw will be a good destination for tourists who are interested in history.
B: It is one of the most famous parks in Poland.
C: Many would say it’s the country that gave the world the great musician, Frederic Chopin.
D: In the 18th century, the last ruler of Poland, King Stanislaw August Poniatowski, liked Chinese culture very much.
E: If you want to become a successful musician, you must go to take a course in Poland.
F: A direct train connection between Chengdu and the Polish city of Lodz opened in 2013.
